for everyone

Hello crafty friends!  Last month was super crazy (the good kind), with my World Card Making Day celebration, three craft shows and Halloween.  Now I can breathe much better, clean up and organize my planet, do other crafts, and actually do a lot more blogging.

There is one more important update as well.

I just launched the Tinker Planet Facebook Page today!  Yipee!

I decided to open a FB page so I can give more updates and interact better with crafty friends like you. And hopefully with this new thing, I can meet more crafty people... woot!  So I hope to see you all there (drop by and say hi!).  And if it's not much of a trouble, hope you LIKE the Tinker Planet Facebook Page too.

'Til next blog!

Hello crafty friends!  As some of you may already know, I celebrate World Card Making Day every year in October (1st).  And just like the past years, I have been raffling out blog candies to celebrate this fun day.  Despite tough economic times, I've been preparing for the blog candy giveaways for next month.  In fact, I was planning on raffling out goodies every weekend for the whole month of October - a total of 4 blog candies!

During the course of my blog candy collecting, it turned out that I have some extra to kick-off World Card Making Day.
What do you think of this goody bunch?

It includes:

  • Stampin Up Stampin Spots in Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Basic Gray
  • Unity Stamp Grab Bag
  • Birthday Card Making Kit
  • ColorBok Chipboard Accents

Hello crafty friends!  I know I haven't updated my Multiply Blog since I moved my paper crafting blog to Blogspot.  But that doesn't mean I have forgotten about my original blog. I'm reserving this blog for other crafts that I do, as well as other "craft-capades".

Through the years, I have met a good number of awesome crafters, mostly from the craft shows I go to - both as a customer and a vendor.  I thought that this blog would also be great to feature them as well.

And for my first Crafter Focus, I'm presenting to you Pillywiggins Garden by Jason and Julie Sitzema of Central Lake, MI:

Love gourds?  It was love at first sight for me when I first saw Jason and Julie Sitzema's awesome and funky gourds at the annual Royal Craft Show in Castle Farms (Charlevoix, MI) in 2009.

I totally remember that first encounter with their gourds, and I just wished I have all the money in the world to buy the ones that I liked.  Of course, I can only afford to buy one, so this was my first gourd from Pillywiggins Garden:

The following year, I got this one:

And on the same year in another craft show, I got my first snow man gourd.  It had a special spot in our Christmas tree that year.

During this year's Royal Craft Show, I went and visited Pillywiggins Garden again to check out their latest gourds.  Due to budget constraints, I wasn't able to add to my gourd collection but definitely there's a good bunch of them that I really liked.  I hope that they will still be available in the next craft show.  During the visit, my DSIL asked how they got the name "Pillywiggins Garden".  Because my eyes were busy looking at the gourds and taking photos, the only thing I grasped was the name came from a children's book.  I wouldn't have known.

So here are a couple pics of the gourd artists Jason and Julie and their booth at the Royal Craft Show:

The Royal Craft Show at Castle Farms (Charlevoix MI) is not over yet... there is still tomorrow, September 4th! So if you're from Northern Michigan, you might want to check them out.

I am looking forward to take one of Julie's gourding classes, and that's one thing I'm really excited about.

For the meantime, do visit the Pilliwiggins Garden's website at http://www.pillywigginsgarden.com/, and check out more of Jason and Julie's awesome gourds.  If you like the Pillywiggins Facebook Page, you'll get first hand updates about their craft shows and maybe get a chance to see their gourds in person.  Definitely a must see!

Happy Saturday, dear reader!  I have a question for you.  What do you have in the background while you are crafting?  I usually watch Filipino shows online while I play in my craft room.  It has become a habit of mine, as I don't like to just sit and watch.  When I'm in front of the TV, I would often work on a cross stitch or crochet project.

Ok, too much blabber... let me just show you my latest cross-stich project that I finished yesterday.

It is called the Fractal 229 Bookmark from Cross-Stitch Collectibles, my favorite cross-stitch website.  This pattern is one of their monthly freebies, and is also their second pattern that I finished, the first being Bend In The Road by Cezanne.  Because I wasn't so diligent in doing this project, it took me almost 2 years to finish.

Well, I still haven't figured out what cross-stitch pattern to do next, but I'm thinking of something patriotic.

And if you're not busy, please check out my other cross-stitch projects by clicking here.

I can't believe I forgot to post here for a couple of weeks!  Just in case you miss my posts, you can always check out TINKERPLANET.BLOGSPOT.COM.

Well, I've been trying to do more scrapbooking this month of May.  However, I have to say I haven't been very good.  I will get to the reason later, but for now here are my scrapbook pages/projects so far:

You can also check out my latest projects for Creative Vision:

Going back to the reason why I haven't been creating as much - my OTT lamp of over 4 years broke. And it took a while to get a new one. But it was all worth the wait, thanks to the assistance of OTT staff. You can see my new lamp by clicking here.

While I was waiting for my craft lamp, I was able to do some improvements in my craft room.  I was able to alter a candle holder and turn it into a card stand. I was also able to make an improvised photo studio.  Ooops... before I forget.  I made a Mother's Day card as well

And finally just this weekend, I got to reorganize my Stamin' Up stamps.

'Til next time!

Hello crafty friends!  It's May!!!  Spring is definitely here and I can really feel it.  DH and I have started planting seeds and flowers.  I'm crossing my fingers that they actually grow... and live and survive until the end of Fall.

Anyway, earlier this week I posted another video tutorial.  It's about the Calendar Wreath.  It's really easy to make, promise!

You can also check out my latest project for Creative Vision.  It's a masculine birthday pop-up card and gift card holder.

I also posted my latest scrapbook album here.

And yesterday, I made sashes for our high school prom.  You can see them here.

Hello crafty friends!  Thanks for visiting my homepage.  I'm now posting daily in TINKERPLANET.BLOGSPOT, but will do a weekly recap here in my Multiply Blog.  I have tried many times to ask Multiply to give the option of opening the comments section to everybody, but to no avail.  That made me try to test the waters from other blogging sites.  I decided to concentrate in TINKERPLANET.BLOGSPOT as far as blogging is concerned.  I began to like a lot of other features there that Multiply blogging doesn't have.  But, the rest of my craft media will remain here in Multiply like my gallery and video tutorials.  I love Multiply and I've had this account since the beginning, and definitely won't let go of it.

Anyway, here's this week's recap:

April 18 - COUTURE CARD SET

April 19 -  FREEBIE CARD

April 20 - BEFORE AND AFTER

April 21 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

April 22 - FRIDAY

April 23 - HAPPY EASTER!

You can always visit TINKERPLANET.BLOGSPOT at any time. Leaving a comment over there will be a breeze, and there's a good number of commenting options to choose from. If you become a follower, I will definitely appreciate it!

See you at TINKERPLANET.BLOGSPOT

Otherwise, 'til next week!

The Robotics Team is one of the organizations that give pride to our high school.  Students coming from all four grade levels put their brains together and create something that no ordinary kid usually can - a real robot.  To show appreciation, I made a bunch of this to adorn their lockers:

Materials used:
cardstock:  Embassy, Fiskars, construction paper
tools:  Cricut Expressions, Robotz cartridge
ink:  Tsukineko, Signo, Popstar
embellishment:  rhinestones
adhesive:  Scotch, Fiskars, Avery, mounting tape
misc.:  ProMag magnets

For more personalization, I stamped each member's name on the red area of the robot.  I'm hoping this will serve as a memento of their team's achievements this year.  They can even use this as an element on a scrapbook page.

Hi fellow crafter!  I was cleaning up my desk when I came across some unfinished cards that have been idle for quite a long time.  Well, I'm not making any promises, but I'd like to finish them all by the end of this month. Here's one that I just finished from the bunch.  I can't even remember the last time I made a tri-fold card, so I was a little excited while making this card.  The sentiment is from my RAK bin, which I colored with Copic markers.  I just wanted a clean and simple design so I just used the faux stitching technique for some effect.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  The Paper Company, leftovers
image/sentiment:  unknown/RAK
ink:  Copic, Staedler, Stampin' Up
tools:  Martha Stewart deep edge punch, Fiskars edge punch, Spellbinders, paper piercer
embellishments:  bow, brad, ribbon
adhesive:  Scotch, Zots, mounting tape

So it was back to my normal routine now that Spring break is over.  My bulletin board at work was halfway done before the break, and I made sure to finish it on the day we go back.  Everybody in our area is really waiting for Spring to start - meaning green grass and flowers.  I wanted to depict that in our bulletin board this month.

I cut the flowers and title with the Cricut Machine.  I touched up each flower with some Crayola paint, then I layered them to create the 3D effect.  After that, I adhered rhinestones in the center of each assembled flower.  The grass I just drew with Crayola paint, while the butterflies were cut with Spellbinders, and touched with glitter gel pens.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  Embassy, construction paper
ink:  Crayola, gel pens
tools:  Cricut Expressions, Gypsy, Spellbinders, Big Shot
embellishments:  rhinestones
Adhesive:  Scotch, glue stick, mounting tape

I love this month's board design.  I might keep it 'til next month.

Hope you can join us in Creative Vision's Bunny Hop Blog Game for some fun and prizes.  Click here for more info.

Hello dear reader!  Before I start, I want to let you know that Creative Vision is holding the "Bunny Hop Blog Game" starting today.

It will run until Saturday, April 16th, which is also the 2nd Blog Hop of the Creative Vision Design Team 5.  It's going to be a fun week, so hop on over to the Creative Vision blog for more info.

During the Spring Break, I promised a friend from work that I will make a scrapbook of her twins' latest photos.  I was inspired when I saw the pictures on her computer, and I figured that a scrapbook would be a nice project during my week long vacation.

For now, I'd like to show you the first page:

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  Embassy, Fiskars
tools:  Martha Stewart around the corner punch, Spellbinders, Creative Memories circle punch
embellishments:  alpha stickers, paper doily, rhinestones, brads
adhesive:  Scotch, Zots, mounting tape

I'm waiting for the time that I'll be scrapbooking pictures of my own kids.  I hope that time comes sometime soon.  I'll definitely be sharing the next pages in the next blog entries. And before I forget, Creative Vision is holding another challenge this week.  The winner gets a Creative Clear single sentiment of choice.  Click here for more info.

For now, it's back to reality for me as my Spring Break officially ends today.

Hello everyone! Today is DMIL's birthday. I am proud to say that I'm really blessed to have a DMIL like her. She never made me feel different or isolated in a big Polish family. A strong and independent woman - I salute her for being able to raise 8 children so well.

The image I used for her card is one of my favorites.  And tulips are one of my favorite flowers.  In fact, I was holding a bouquet of tulips on my wedding day.

The following Copic colors were used:
Tulips:  V17, V15, V12, RV14, RV13, RV11
Leaves:  G17, G16, G14
Pail:  E09, E08, E15

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  Martha Stewart, Fiskars, My Mind's Eye, Paper Reflections, Bazzil
image/sentiment:  Magnetic Poetry, PSX
ink:  Tsukineko, Copics, Staedler, Stampin' Up, Spica
tools:  Martha Stewart edge punch, Spellbinders, The Crafter's Workshop, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Big Shot
embellishments:  rhinestone stickers (Kaiser)
adhesive:  Scotch, mounting tape

I guess this card clearly shows that I'm sooo ready for Spring.  'Til next blog!

I made this card for somebody really special.  She's not just my sister, but a friend as well.  I have to admit that it took time to accept the fact that she's no longer the baby sister of mine.  And even though I still worry about her, I'm really proud that she grew to be a wonderful and independent woman.  We may be different, but we definitely jive.

Materials used:
cardstock/dp:  Embassy, Creative Imaginations, Fiskars
image/sentiment:  Cloud 9 Designs, Verve, Unity
ink:  Tsukineko, Stampin' Up
tools:  Martha Stewart edge punch, Spellbinders, Big Shot, heat gun
embellishments:  rhinestones, ribbon
misc.:  Ranger embossing powder
adhesive:  Scotch, Zots, mounting tape

Enjoy your weekend, dear reader.  'Til next blog!

One time I went to my friend's house and starting playing in her craft room.  While I was there I wanted to make a card using her supplies so I dug through her scrap pile, and looked for tools that I don't have.  Sometimes it's nice to be in a different place to craft for those reasons.  With today's card, all the elements are from my friend's craft room except for the stamped image and ribbon.  I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils.

I dedicate this blog entry to her. 'Til next blog!

You know when you buy something and then forget about it?  Well, I have had a Stampin' Up Simply Sent card kit for quite a while now, and it has been sitting in my planet for quite a while.  I finally got to play with it.  I was having a bad day from work, and I thought this kit was the easiest project I can think of doing.

Like most kits, there are instructions on how to assemble the cards.  I followed the layout, but I changed the elements a little bit.  There are two versions:  one that says "Celebrate" and the other says "Celebrate Life".  I like the size of these cards, perfect for inserting checks and money.

Materials used:
carstock/dp:  Stampin' Up
image/sentiment:  Stampin' Up
ink:  Stampin' Up
tools:  EK Success edge punch, Spellbinders, Creative Memories circle punch
adhesive:  Scotch, mounting tape

I hope you can join us in the Creative Vision challenge of making monochromatic cards, and maybe you can win some Creative Clear stamps.  Click here for more info.
